I'm so sick of forgetting myself to remember who I am.
Been like a week since I updated
Well I am back after a brief absence. I haven't really gone anywhere, just been too lazy to update. I went to Emeril's Restaurant in South Beach over the weekend. Quite pricy, but the service is impeccable. They don't let you get up from the table without them coming and taking away your napkin to being you a new one when you sit. As soon as you sit somebody runs over to put the napkin in your lap. When they bring the food out they are required to put every plate down simultaneously. So we had six people. Three people came out each with a plate in their hands and on three they put the plates down at the same time. Of course they didn't count to three out loud, but I assumed they had some kind of waiter code. The restaurant turned out to be pretty good. Of course they actually give you the correct size portion you are supposed to eat, So any halfway normal American would say to himself, "these portions are too small". When in fact they aren't. People are just so used to gorging themselves on food. I guess it is the same principle of alcohol. You get your body used to drinking more of it and it takes more for you to get drunk. So I guess the same goes for food. Anyhoo, the restaurant was top notch, even if you don't like the food, the service and atmosphere were great. They had a wine list that was bigger than the menu itself. Only thing missing was Emeril yelling BAM! That would have made the evening perfect. I also bought a movie called The Station Agent. I was lucky enough to see it in the theater. This movie I recommend to everyone. It's about a midget who moves to New Jersey and just wants to be left alone. He ends up meeting two people and they become the unlikeliest of friends. It's not a very exciting movie, but I laugh really hard at it. The acting is superb and you really feel the awkwardness between them. Friendship movies don't get much better than this. So if you have the chance, check it out. Now I will leave you with some lyrics: The bridge is all crumbled.
The water soaks into rocks
that fell at the bottom of the road (At the end of the town.)
The town that we lived in.
The memories shaken apart from the weeds that grow
Over the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
Or
Out on the front porch,
watching the cars as they go by
(Eighteen blue, twenty one grey)
Looking ahead for the first time that we could drive,
Out on our own,
To speed away
From the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
Or
All of the days have passed us by,
All of the sun is gone... away.
Sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
(Sidewalks)
The bridges are crumpled,
(Sidewalks)
The water soaks into rocks,
That fell at the bottom of the road.
The water soaks into rocks
