I'm so sick of forgetting myself to remember who I am.
I had the most wonderful weekend
I had the most wonderful weekend. There were some problems, but other than that I had a great time. I left early Friday morning after having been out late at the Rush concert. My friend has been a lifelong fan of the band. He has even written a book on them and had it published. He is now working on something else for them; therefore, we were on the bands list. We went to the amphitheater and went to the window and said we were on the list. They gave us our tickets and they were 8th row center. I have never been that close for any concert. And I must say I can see why he has been into them for so long. They gave the most amazing show I have ever seen a band play. I mean they are all in their 50's and they are still jumping around and rocking out. Anyhow, let’s move onto the weekend's events. I got to Tampa about 10ish. We then headed over to Blizzard Beach in Disney. We get there and the sign says that it is closed due to capacity. I felt like Clark Griswold in National Lampoon's Vacation. Anyhow they said it would reopen at 2PM. So we hung around and ate at McDonalds. We finally got to go in and it was awesome. They got this one slide there that I don't recommend unless you have a thing for atomic wedgies. It goes almost straight down. Needless to say my bathing suit ended up where I didn't want it. Well we spent the day there and drove back home. Of course we got stuck in a road block for a couple of hours so that was fun. We finally made it back and woke up early on Saturday. We made our way over to Universal Studios. Now I haven't been there in a while. I went for one reason. I went to see the new Revenge of the Mummy ride. So I said to my companion that knowing my luck it will be closed. So I guess you can see where this is going. It was closed! I swear if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any. Luckily it opened back up later in the day. Nice hour and a half line too. It was so worth the wait. That thing is so damn fast. A little too short though, but it scares the crap out of you. I mean it starts off like a Disney ride. You are going through the caves. Then the Mummy pops out and tells you that you will suffer his wrath. Then you go into a room and the walls break open and all the little Scarabs from the movie start scattering around you. Then the car you are in falls backwards down a drop. Then you stop short at the bottom and your car turns itself around and you are facing an incline. At the top of it is the mummy saying some other mumbo jumbo about dying or something. Then you launch up the incline quite fast and go over it into a drop. Then it turns into some kind of pseudo Space Mountain. Then you come to a room where a woman comes on and says to exit when the car stops. So I am left thinking that was the shortest ride in history. Just then the mummy breaks through the wall and spouts some more nonsense, then the ceiling lights on fire and BAM! You are off again. Anyhow, it was so good I rode it twice in a row. The second time I was in the back of the car so when we went around one of the turns I could actually feel the G-Forces pull my face back. Then we went over to the movies and saw possibly the funniest stoner flick I have ever seen. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. This movie had me on the floor. It was a nice break from walking around through the parks listening to whiny kids yell "I want this, Daddy!" and "Give it to me it's mine!" So anyhow after seeing it I was craving White Castle. White Castle stands to make a shitload of money off of this movie. Well since I live in God forsaken Florida we don't have the luxury of White Castle. You think somebody out there would want to put one here. If we can have that shitty ass Steak and Shake here why can't we have a quality burger place? All we have here that is close is Krystal burger. So me and my friend Jen began our journey for Krystal burgers. It was just like in the movie except we weren't high. And I don't think we were going to be picking up Neil Patrick Harris hitchhiking on the side of the road. Anyhow the next day I began my journey back to Fort Lauderdale. I got stuck in the worst possible rain storm. This rain actually seemed to be hitting the car sideways. I finally made it home then I went to see Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster with my friend Rob. That was a great movie. It was the Let It Be of our generation. It chronicles like 3 years of Metallica making its latest album. They had a group therapist helping them because they couldn't seem to get it together. It really did a good job of humanizing the band instead of showing them as a larger than life superband. It shows them as normal people with problems just like you and me. Well I should get running. Got a lot of sitting on my ass to do.
